It’s great to rank the top 10 College Quarterbacks. However, are you looking at them as “raw talent” and their ability to play at “peak performance “?

The most important question one should ask before firing on these top tier talent(s) is:
1. Do they have a very good offensive line?
2. Do they have a great left and right tackle?
3. Can their offensive line open up lanes for a running back?
4. Does the team have a running game?
5. Does the quarterback have the proper footwork to escape?
6. Can his offensive line hold so the quarterback can drop back?
7. Can the quarterback set up a downfield pass in 2 seconds?
8. Can the quarterback read defenses quick and smartly if their line breaks down?
9. Will the coach allow him to call audible plays and can his offensive line adjust immediately?
10. Does he have a new quarterback coach and does the offensive line have a different line coach?

If you look back to last year, Arch Manning was a perfect example. He had the raw talent but no offensive line. These are things that must be graded before making a bet. And I’ll add that listed below are the raw talented quarterbacks of teams in the top 25. The oddsmakers know the public will buy into this hype because of sports headlines. Be careful because you’ll find a team that can win but will have difficulty covering the spread.

We like to check out the fit and chemistry between the quarterback and his offensive line. We want to check offensive line injuries and their backups. We check to see if the line matches up with the quarterback and if there is a good running back to provide blocking.

When betting, you’re better off falling in love with the offensive line than the quarterback. Remember that and have a great season.
