These Week 2 NFL power rankings offer a comprehensive view of team standings and future prospects.

It’s important to note that these rankings consider more than just win-loss records and playoff seeding. This is why teams with worse records and slimmer playoff hopes may rank higher than those with better records who have managed wins against weaker opponents or delivered inconsistent performances.

1. Buffalo (1-0)

The championship window won’t be open forever for the Bills, and Josh Allen showed Sunday nighthe won’t let it slam shut. You’d be forgiven for calling it curtains for the Bills after Derrick Henry scored his second touchdown of the game to put the Ravens 40-25 up with just over 11 minutes remaining in the game. But, behind an excellent Josh Allen performance, Buffalo rallied to score 16 points in the final four minutes of the game, including a game-winning field goal as time expired. Allen earned an 87.0 PFF overall grade, sparked by 394 passing yards and five total touchdowns, and the Bills are, somehow, off to a winning start. That wild comeback against the Ravens saved them from a depressing opening and might have established them as the team to beat in the AFC.

2. Philadelphia (1-0)

The Eagles survived a tough Week 1 battle against a game Dallas Cowboys team and a long weather delay. It wasn’t always pretty, and the passing attack lacked some punch, but Jalen Hurts’ ability to scramble and make plays with his legs carried the team to a 24-20 win, with the Super Bowl MVP earning an 88.0 PFF overall grade. The road back to the Super Bowl starts at 1-0. I know they didn’t look great against the Cowboys. It was a weird game, losing DT Jalen Carter early and then the weather delay. I’m willing to give them a pass for one week only. They’re still the same team they were a week ago. And to be the man, you’ve got to beat the man. So for now, the top spot was forfeited for this week.

3. Baltimore (0-1)

They were almost in consideration for the top spot, but as great a coach as John Harbaugh is, he’s prone to some head-scratching late-game management. The Ravens are obviously a great team. But they might have been beaten by a better one. The Ravens are the best team in the NFL until they need to be. That’s the general feeling after they were on the wrong side of a Week 1 classic against the Buffalo Bills. The rushing attack picked up where it left off in 2024, tallying 238 yards, but questions will be asked about a secondary that allowed 11 explosive passing plays. Regardless, expectations remain high for the Ravens.

Home vs Cleveland

4. Green Bay (1-0)

That wasn’t even the Packers at their best, yet they made a statement that they intend to be the new kings of the NFL’s best division. Jordan Love and Micah Parsons are really just getting started. The Packers looked every bit like a team projected to take the next step in 2025 in their 27-13 win against the Lions. The offense, led by Jordan Love, was explosive, while the defense locked up one of the NFL's best attacks. It’s only Week 1, but Green Bay is fielding top-10 units in EPA per play on offense and defense.

Home Thursday vs Washington

5. Pittsburgh (1-0

What a Week 1 for the Steelers, who scored more than 30 points on offense — something that has seemed almost impossible for the team in recent seasons — and picked up a win. Pittsburgh went all in this offseason, and one of the team's big acquisitions, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, came up with the game-sealing play and earned an 87.5 PFF coverage grade. You doubted Aaron Rodgers? Shame on you. He turned in a vintage, four-touchdown performance against his old team. Yeah, he needed a 60-yard field goal to squeak by. But if he’s as good as he was on Sunday, the Steelers will be good all year.

Home vs Seattle

6. LA Chargers (1-0)

The Chargers opened up their 2025 account with an excellent Week 1 win in Brazil against the Chiefs — the first time they’ve beaten their AFC West foes since Week 3 of the 2021 NFL season. The driving force was Justin Herbert, who earned an 84.0 PFF overall grade and tossed three touchdowns. Could this be the season the Chargers start to put it all together? That was a statement win on Friday night in Brazil for Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert. They proved to be a threat to the Chiefs by beating them, and Herbert showed his elite side. Consider the Chargers a real contender.

7. Kansas City (0-1)

Two years ago, the Chiefs lost on Opening Day. They went on a six-game winning streak after that and a few months later they won the Super Bowl. So don’t panic over their loss to the Chargers. The dynasty isn’t dead yet. The Chiefs' defense allowed more than 300 passing yards in a game just twice in 2024, and the group kicked off the 2025 season by surrendering 304 passing yards to the Chargers in a 27-21 loss. Patrick Mahomes, who earned a 79.0 PFF overall grade and made three big-time throws against Los Angeles, will need to be at his best for an offense that, once again, lacked an element of explosiveness.

Home vs Philadelphia

8. Washington (1-0)

It wasn’t their best effort, but they didn’t need it against the Giants. Jayden Daniels is still good (233 passing yards, 68 rushing yards) and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury seems to love his new toy, WR Deebo Samuel (7 catches for 77 yards and a 19-yard rushing touchdown). The Giants weren't expected to pose a serious threat to a Commanders team with Super Bowl aspirations in 2025, and Washington's 21-6 win reflected that, with both the offense and defense showing up in Week 1. Second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels had a solid performance, if not too flashy, earning him an 83.9 PFF overall grade. He completed 63.3% of his passes for 233 yards and a touchdown. A tough Thursday night matchup in Green Bay awaits.

At Green Bay Thursday

9. Arizona (1-0)

The Cardinals entered Week 1 with a sneakily tough task of beating a Saints team that will be vying for the No. 1 pick come the end of the season. Arizona got past the trap game thanks to a strong defensive performance, and cornerback Will Johnson, a 2025 second-round pick, earned a 90.2 PFF overall grade in his NFL debut. I still believe the Cardinals could be one of the NFL’s biggest surprises, but I’ll be honest: I was expecting more, especially against a really bad Saints team. Kyler Murray could be special, but 173 passing yards (and 2 TDs) and 38 rushing yards is pretty pedestrian.

Home vs Carolina

10. LA Rams (1-0)

I am still concerned about Matthew Stafford being 37 with a bad back, but he was good on Sunday (21 of 29, 245 yards, 1 TD) and the Rams have plenty of offensive weapons. For all of the talk regarding Matthew Stafford’s back, there was little to no cause for concern in the Rams' Week 1 win against the Houston Texans. Stafford was at his best, slinging the ball around on his way to a position-high 92.9 PFF overall grade. He completed 72.4% of his passes for 245 yards and a touchdown. No quarterback topped Stafford’s five big-time throws in Week 1. Their defense looked great, too. I just wish the Rams had scored more than 14 points. They used to be explosive.
